Out & about

Untouched wilderness and four of Scotland’s top five highest mountains are to be found at the Cairngorms, the largest National Park in the United Kingdom. The Cairngorms offer huge opportunities for enjoying the great outdoors from mountain hikes until salmon fishing and, in winter, fantastic snow sports.

Walking

The Keith area offers a tremendous variety of scenery and walks to match, from long distance footpaths and cross-country routes, through woodlands or along cliffs to sandy bays. The landscape throughout Aberdeen and Grampian is stunning, providing wonderful riverside walking, dramatic coastlines and imposing mountains. It truly is a tranquil and at the same time impressive countryside where fresh air, clear skies and pure water are only the top tips of your walking experiences. There is a specific long distance walk which we recommend. The long distance Speyside Way captures the spirit of Scotland and is a ‘must have done’ activity when you are in the Whisky country. Running from the fishing port of Buckie, 50 miles east of Inverness, along the lovely valley of the River Spey, to the foothills of the Cairngorm mountains. Walk up to 84 miles (135 km) through countryside rich in wildlife, malt whisky and tradition. Life is just so challenging!

Golfing

If you are a golfer, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Choose from links, parkland and heatland courses as well as driving ranges and golf centres to help you improve your skills. Enjoy golfing in Keith with its challenging Parkland Course which provides superb golf and stunning scenery.
